what i have learned in the past few weeks in science

i have learned the bad sides of technology, even if it's used right. i have learned that tv show south park is one of the most educational shows out there. this suprised me because i would never see the actually well put hidden messages in the show. i have also learned that even good things like the light bulb and the radio actually have bad side affects, like the light bulb lets you see but it takes energy, taking money from you is always bad. but it also takes sleeping time away from you. like we just used to go to sleep at dark and wake up at sunrise, now with the alarm clock and the light bulb, we are woke up before sunrise, limiting our very valuable sleeping time which cuts down our mood and how alert we are when the day progresses. so actually these technologies are changing our lifes alot. but i think the that google is growing alittle to powerful. how they say that in five years google will be able to keep tabs on all of us is true. i think that it is our fault that google is this powerful though. google never made us use it but we are so fasinated with it, we just didn't care and one day it probuably will happen. i have learned that all of technology also has good sides too, but we are so amazed by the good sides thqat we just blew off the bad sides. this can cause a huge problem in the future. i bet in a few years schools will use computers in class. i am in science using a laptop right now. like 3 years ago i never thought a computer had anything to do with school. now the teachers have them, we use them all the time, and it alters our learning. but i don't know if it will be a good alter or a bad alter. i am just saying that technology is kind of consuming our lives. soon i bet all of our work will be inn blogs or in google documents. but it is also saving trees and slowing the production of paper, but if we stop making paper because everything is online, people who work for logging companies will lose their jobs and it is like every good thing comes with a bad thing also.

police project

I am reascearching police for my independent project. Police are the men and woman that keep our society safe. Police officers are required to train inside a police academy. this is about 22 weeks of training in everything a police officer needs to know in order to start serving. this is where they will learn about techniques to keep them safe when they are on duty. they are taught to defend against themselfs against criminals and how to use firearms. the police academy also involves alot of classroom type work too. they are required to take 2 written tests and a agility drill and a swimming test. they are to complete a number of requirements to show that they have comprehended the skills to begin serving as a police officer. as shown in the pictures, they are taught to disarm, to co-op with k-9s and to defend in hand to hand combat. after they complete this part of becoming a police officer, they fill out a application in a police department to begin serving in that area.

plate tetonics

Plate tetonics is the theory that the plates of earth are moving. It is cool because it has alot of evidence supporting it. There is the mid-atlantic ridge, that is where the atlantic ocean is getting larger by spreading apart. There are alot of earthquakes around the ring of fire, this is the area around the pacific plate, it is shown here: this is called the ring of fire because this is where subduction occurs, this is when two plates collide and one plate goes under anouther plate and it melts in the mantle. then the mamga tries to escape and it escapes through a crack and this is a volcano and there is subduction is occuring all around the pacific plate.












There are many plates in the world. and at one time, millions of years ago, there was a supercontinent called Pangea. this was where all of the plates were connected and it looked like this: pangea was a huge landmass that existed millions of years ago. we have evidence of this because of the landmasses, like mountains and on right side of most moving plates. there is a mid-atlantic ridge that is spreading the atlantic and shrinking the pacific plate and this is from plates moving which is plate tetonics.

-I have learned that scientists work togther all the time, that they are bias to try to understand things better.

-I belive that i can understand the projects better in order to be better next quarter.

-i don't like how we talk about the same thing over and over again, but i do like how the teacher teaches, he gets all of us involved.

what grade i think i should of gotten on the test.

well, i havent seen my grade yet, but i think that i will get a b.
